Job Summary

Pittsburgh Deep Cleaners is seeking experienced independent cleaners who are interested in completing short-term rental (STR) turnover projects on a contract basis. Contractors choose the projects they accept and complete them within the guest-ready window.

This is not an employee position.

You work as an independent contractor and maintain control over how the work is completed as long as the final result meets the project requirements.

Responsibilities (1099-Safe Wording)

Contractors may choose to accept turnover projects that typically include:

  • Preparing the property for the next guest
  • Resetting bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas
  • Completing laundry on-site (washing/drying linens & towels)
  • Ensuring the property matches the reference photos provided
  • Restocking basic supplies when needed
  • Removing trash and checking for any visible issues
  • Uploading completion photos for verification

Contractors determine their own methods, tools, and workflow to complete accepted projects.

Requirements (Worded to Avoid Employment Flags)

  • Prior experience with STR/Airbnb turnovers preferred
  • Ability to complete turnovers within the guest-ready timeframe
  • Ability to provide your own cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Smartphone for photos and communication
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be comfortable accepting or declining projects based on availability

Compensation

This is project-based pay, not hourly.

Typical contractor pay range:

$90–$120 per turnover (varies by property size and workload)

Contractors receive payment per completed project.

No minimum or maximum number of projects is required.

Schedule

Contractors choose the projects they want to accept.

Turnovers may be available any day of the week depending on bookings.
