About the Role
Gersh is seeking an experienced, highly detailed Staff Accountant with excellent communication and strong analytical skills to support the accounting team on all strategic and day-to-day accounting processes. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial statements, and performing tasks like bank reconciliations and assisting with tax return related preparation activities.
Duties
- Financial reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, as well as daily/weekly cash flow reports. - Record keeping:
Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. - Account reconciliation:
Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy. - Auditing and compliance:
Assist with external audits by providing documentation and account analysis. - Budgeting and forecasting:
Support senior accountants with budgeting and forecasting processes, as necessary. - Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and trends, as appropriate. - Participate in special projects, ad hoc reporting, data gathering and analysis as needed to support the Accounting and Finance team or other departments.
Work location requirement
- Staff Accountant to work in the Beverly Hills office in order to collaborate with other members of the accounting team.
- Standard office hours apply, but the candidate may work evenings or weekends to meet strict deadlines during busy financial periods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, required.
- 1-2 years of professional work experience in a similar accounting role required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and accounting principles (US GAAP).
- NetSuite or Oracle experience a plus.
- Entertainment or media industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFs, etc.
- Strong numeracy, analytical skills, organization, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Must show accountability, be a team player and operate with a sense of urgency.
- Must demonstrate the highest level of personal ethics and professional integrity.
Compensation
- $60-75K (
