Qualifications:

  • Strong Math Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Four-year degree preferred or two-year degree with equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, accounting, and/or payroll.
  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
  • Review of schedules, with outstanding items resolved in an appropriate timeframe
  • Reconciliation or review of reconciliations of various accounts that may include bank accounts, finance receivables, warranty payables, manufacturer statement, and floorplan
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, and distribution of revenue, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses
  • Establishes system controls and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
  • Coordinates preparation of external review materials and external financial reporting.
  • Completes and/or reviews and submits all monthly, quarterly, and annual IRS, State, and Local tax returns and informational filings including but not limited to payroll, sales and use tax, 1099 reporting, unclaimed property, and mercantile taxes (if applicable)
  • Reviews financial statements with controller.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
  • Works directly with the managers and/or general manager at the store to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and to resolve issues that have been unable to be resolved with the department managers
  • Keep controller informed of issues as they arise working with the store
  • Administer security setups and settings for direct reports and the stores
  • Considers current processes for recording/reporting information and evaluates whether efficiencies could be gained through process change
  • Manages employees reporting directly to them
  • Participates in the interview and hiring process
  • Trains employees on the accounting and other skills necessary in order to perform their job responsibilities
  • Assesses individual competencies as they relate to career goals and development, and tailors training accordingly
  • Provides direct and meaningful feedback including constructive criticism as necessary in the form of quarterly reviews
  • Participates in annual evaluations for cost of living/merit increases
  • Approves/coordinates time off requests to ensure adequate coverage
