Overview:

The TRC Climate Advisory, Decarbonization & Resiliency team works with global corporations, energy companies, financial institutions, and governments to deliver on a decarbonized energy future. We support our clients and their stakeholders as they envision and prepare for a resilient future by combining our market knowledge, objective modelling capabilities, and deep technical skills with strategic perspectives.

As a Climate Advisory and Resiliency expert within the TRC team, you will help to identify and build new, transformational offerings for our clients as they relate to climate change. Assignments may include assessing physical and transitional risks and opportunities, quantifying the financial impacts of climate risks, and designing and implementing climate resiliency programs. In this role you will contribute to and lead complex projects that benefit our client's goals and objectives, while supporting marketing growth.

This position involves working directly with clients to identify climate-related risks and opportunities, and develop ensuing strategic plans, business cases, risk assessments and cost/benefit and other analyses. This is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills essential to effective general strategy, policy, and regulatory consulting. The role requires frequent communications with clients and coworkers while effectively sharing information. The position would report to Climate Risk and Resilience (CRR) Director, but have reach across all of the TRC sectors as typical for all of the CRR team as services and markets are cross-cutting.

Responsibilities:

Lead strategic market expansion for climate financial disclosure and sustainable/resilient investment, transforming regulatory compliance into resilient, investable business strategy (e.g., adoption of TCFD, IFRS S2, emerging TNFD).

  • Build out the climate financial services advisory portfolio and support growth across the team.
  • Expand/deepen CRR portfolio and presence in the New York market.
  • Mentor and train staff to support their professional growth and development.
  • Lead strategic client engagements around climate risk management, resilience strategy and TCFD disclosure.
  • Develop entity-wide, asset-level, and supply and value chain climate risk, resilience, and adaptive capacity assessments.
  • Act as a Climate Advisory and Resiliency subject matter expert for client workshops, meetings, and interviews.
  • Provide Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expertise for sales and delivery efforts.
  • Direct team members to support the development of climate change solutions to meet client needs.
  • Evaluate potential team growth in the resilience water utility market for business case expansion of markets

Qualifications:

  • Diverse technical proficiency in climate change, infrastructure resiliency and sustainability.
  • 12 years or more of environmental consulting experience with primary focus in climate change, infrastructure resiliency and sustainability.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of best practices for climate change financial analyses and climate financial market.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and mentor staff to promote staff development and organic growth.
  • Client-focused approach to consulting and track record of creating new clients and opportunities, as well as maintain and growing existing client relationships.
  • Demonstrates excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.
  • Strong quality assurance/quality control skills to perform technical, style and consistency reviews.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
