Smoke Shop Sales Associate - Day & Overnight Shifts

Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Job Description

Join our vibrant team as a Smoke Shop Sales Associate In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face and knowledgeable guide for our customers, helping them find the products they love while providing exceptional service. Your enthusiasm and product expertise will create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and inspired to explore our wide selection of smoking accessories, vaporizers, and related merchandise.

This position offers opportunities for both daytime associates focused on sales and overnight associates who specialize in security, deep stocking, and facility maintenance, ensuring the store is immaculate and ready for the next day.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products tailored to their preferences and needs.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for sales transactions, handling cash accurately, processing electronic payments, and providing receipts.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations and upsell complementary products.
  • Provide detailed product knowledge, including benefits, usage tips, and legal regulations.
  • Ensure excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
  • Perform basic retail math for transactions, discounts, and promotional offers.

Inventory Management & Merchandising (All Shifts)

  • Maintain attractive merchandise displays through effective staging and organization.
  • Manage inventory levels by promptly restocking shelves and display cases throughout the shift.
  • Track stock movement accurately and communicate low stock issues to management.
  • Face all products on shelves (pulling them to the front) to maintain a neat and organized appearance.

Overnight Closing, Security, & Deep Stocking Duties

  • Facility Deep Clean: Thoroughly clean and sanitize all countertops, glass display cases, and work surfaces. Sweep and mop all public and back-of-house floor areas.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Scrupulously clean and maintain the employee and customer restroom facilities.
  • Waste Management: Break down and remove trash/recycling, ensuring the store dumpster area is tidy and maintained.
  • Security & Closeout: Secure all products and cash registers following established closing procedures..

Qualifications

  • Prior retail sales experience, preferably in a specialty shop environment.
  • Proven ability to handle cash and use POS systems with speed and accuracy (Day Shift).
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and diligence to consistently execute nightly deep cleaning, stocking, and security checklists without direct supervision (Overnight Shift).
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to educate customers effectively.
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of smoking accessories, vaporizers, or related products is preferred but not required (training provided).
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
