With reputation for excellence, and recent triple digit growth, we are seeking a dynamic Accounts Payable/Expense Accounting Clerk to lead our financial operations and help drive the next phase of expansion.
Position Summary:
The AP Clerk is a key member of the accounting department and will serve as a key team player. The position is responsible to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reimbursement requests, payments, and assisting with obtaining documentation and approvals for the Ramp platform. This position is ideal for an entry-level professional eager to build a foundation in accounting and contribute to a dynamic, growing company. The AP Clerk will report directly to the VP Finance, and will have access to external accounting support staff as well. They will interact with directly with other departments and external vendors, and be expected to maintain accurate records and support month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and process invoices in Quickbooks Online, or other accounting software as the company grows.
- Obtain review and approval of incoming requests for expenditures.
- Obtain vendor W9s, file information, and ensure validity of all incoming requests.
- Prepare for approval suggested weekly check runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements to internal records and resolve discrepancies timely.
- Obtain receipts from team members for credit card and Ramp charges, ensure approvals are obtained timely in Ramp.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including expense analysis, and coding of all invoices/charges to appropriate departments and categories.
- Support the VP Finance and external accountants with reporting as needed.
- File 1099s for appropriate vendors at year end.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or Associates Degree required. Preference given to candidates seeking a long-term growth position, including evidence of seeking a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Experience:
- 0 – 5 years of accounting or accounts payable experience.
- Familiarity with basic bookkeeping principles, and general ledger experience.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills for a high-volume environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Quickbooks Online, Ramp, and ability to learn new systems
- Positive attitude that is willing to learn including a "can do it" behavior and willing to jump in to a fast paced environment.
What We Offer:
- Competitive hourly pay and performance-based bonus, with an anticipated range of $25.00 to $30.00 per hour plus bonus.
