The Colorado Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs ("the Alliance") strengthens the collective impact of 17 local Boys & Girls Club organizations across Colorado – rural, urban, tribal, and military – by advancing statewide partnerships, funding opportunities, and policy advocacy. The Alliance works to ensure every young person in Colorado has access to life-changing out-of-school experiences through safe, high-quality Boys & Girls Clubs.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Colorado Alliance Executive Director, the Grants & Programs Director oversees the full lifecycle of statewide grants and contracts — from planning to proposal development to compliance, reporting, and funder relations. This position ensures the effective management of all public and private funding streams administered by the Alliance, aligning resources with organizational priorities, ensuring excellence in grant compliance, and strengthening the collective impact Boys & Girls Clubs across Colorado that involve complex, multi-site initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Leadership

Coordinate strategic planning for grant and contract acquisition to secure, manage, and sustain diverse funding sources supporting Boys & Girls Clubs' youth development programs across Colorado.

Collaborate with the Executive Director to align funding strategies with legislative, philanthropic, and programmatic priorities.

Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to Alliance leadership and members regarding funding trends, grant performance, and emerging opportunities.

Grants & Contracts Management

Oversee the full lifecycle of all Alliance-administered grants – including proposal development, budget creation, compliance, and reporting – ensuring timely and accurate submissions in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Collaborate with local Club organizations to meet all statewide deliverables and compliance expectations.

Lead the implementation of procedures to train, support, and monitor Club organizations to improve the quality and impact of statewide grants and initiatives.

Coordinate with the Alliance and BGCMD finance teams to develop and monitor grant budgets, reconcile expenses, and ensure proper documentation for funder and audit requirements.

Lead continuous improvement of systems and tools to streamline grant administration and reporting of funds across all statewide initiatives.

Partnership Development & External Relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with the Alliance's public and private funders to demonstrate the transparent, responsible, and valuable impact of statewide grant funds invested in Boys & Girls Clubs across Colorado.

As assigned by the Executive Director, represent the Alliance in meetings with policymakers and community partners to advocate for continued investment in Boys & Girls Clubs across Colorado.

Provide training, technical assistance, and compliance support to local Clubs, as necessary, to strengthen their grant management and reporting capacity on statewide initiatives.

Organizational Collaboration

Work closely with the Alliance lobbying and communications teams to align grant funding and impacts with statewide advocacy, evaluation, and storytelling efforts.

Support major organizational initiatives such as the State Youth of the Year program, Legislative Advocacy Day, and the Alliance's Youth Advisory Council.

Contribute to monthly Club CEO meetings, Alliance Board meetings, and cross-functional initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered.

Five (5) years of progressive experience in grant management, contracts administration, or nonprofit operations, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-site or statewide grants — including proposal development, budgeting, compliance, and reporting.

Working knowledge of state and federal grant requirements, nonprofit accounting principles, and financial reporting systems.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with funders, state agencies, and partner organizations, including experience providing training or technical assistance.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to craft persuasive proposals and clear, data-driven reports.

Operational and financial acumen to develop, monitor, and reconcile budgets and ensure accuracy and accountability.

Customer service orientation and commitment to collaborative, mission-driven work within a statewide network or coalition setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strategic and analytical thinking skills to align funding strategies with organizational goals and emerging opportunities.

Demonstrated success securing and managing six- or seven-figure public and private grants with measurable program outcomes.

Experience working in or with a federated or membership-based nonprofit system (e.g., state alliances, multi-site organizations, or associations).

Experience integrating grant funding strategies with advocacy, public policy, or statewide communications initiatives.

Advanced proficiency with grants management, CRM, or financial systems (e.g., Salesforce, EZ Reports, eC-Impact or similar platforms).

Strong leadership and change management skills, with a track record of improving processes and building capacity across multiple organizations.

Demonstrated ability to represent an organization with credibility in meetings with funders, policymakers, and community partners.

Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges in a dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

Primary work environment is office-based, with hybrid flexibility.

Requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel independently to urban, rural, and mountain communities across Colorado.

Must pass comprehensive national criminal background and child abuse/neglect checks as required by funders and state regulations.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

Hours: M-F; 40 Hours/Week

Location: PSC with Hybrid Schedule Approved by Executive Director
