Addison Group is supporting a client in the manufacturing industry seeking an
Accounts Receivable Specialist – Cash Applications
to join their team on a contract basis. This role requires a
high level of systems experience and technical aptitude
, as the right candidate will be navigating multiple ERP platforms and large data sets daily. It's a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong experience in high-volume cash applications, reconciliations, and customer account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply incoming payments (ACH, wire, check, credit card) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, and payment discrepancies.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure proper coding and documentation.
  • Collaborate with AR, customer service, and billing teams to identify and correct posting errors.
  • Support month-end close through reconciliations and reporting on cash application activity.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounts receivable or cash applications experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AR processes and general accounting principles.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
