We have been living and breathing the world of real estate information and online marketplaces for over 35 years, giving us the perspective to create truly unique and valuable offerings to our customers.  We've continually refined, transformed and perfected our approach to our business, creating a language that has become standard in our industry, for our customers, and even our competitors.  We continue that effort today and are always working to improve and drive innovation.  This is how we deliver for our customers, our employees, and investors.  By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate.

The Role

By combining the power of CoStar's independent research organization – the industry's largest – with global data delivery, software, and application solutions, clients can act on opportunities with confidence.

As an Associate Lease Comp Researcher, you will gain foundational experience in lease abstraction and analytics. Your primary responsibility will be to review complex lease documents, identify critical data points, and extract key lease data and terms to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prior lease abstraction experience is not required—we will provide you with comprehensive training and mentorship to help you build confidence in reading leases and understanding the terminology. Our team is here to support your growth every step of the way. Through this training and hands-on experience, you will develop a solid understanding of lease terms and real estate practices, while contributing to CoStar's industry-leading lease data through document interpretation, critical data extraction, and accurate database entry.

This position is in office Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Learn to read and interpret commercial real estate lease agreements, amendments, and related documents.

• Identify and abstract critical data points such as lease dates, rental rates, operating expenses, and tenant responsibilities.

• Accurately input lease information into CoStar's proprietary database, supporting our lease comp analytics.

• Collaborate with senior team members to resolve data inconsistencies and ensure accuracy.

• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

• Maintain privacy and discretion with all data extracted from leases.

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit University or College

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Exposure to real estate or legal documents through coursework, internships, prior employment, or research.

• Natural curiosity, persistence, and interest in analytics.

• Experience working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What's in it for you?

When you join CoStar Group, you'll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.
