We are seeking a Business Process Analyst (Legal Operations) to join our Grand Rapids corporate office. This position is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in improving processes that support our legal and operational teams.

The Business Process Analyst works cross-functionally—partnering closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and management—to analyze workflows, develop process improvements, and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Data Analysis

  • Design, implement, and document business processes, policies, and standards that enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for automation, accuracy improvement, and standardization.
  • Develop data-driven reports and dashboards to track performance and inform management decisions.
  • Create and maintain tools for monitoring KPIs and business objectives.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of technology solutions used in business and legal operations.

Legal Operations Collaboration

  • Work closely with attorneys and legal assistants to streamline documentation workflows and ensure timely, accurate processing of case-related materials.
  • Assist in auditing, tracking, and reporting on key legal and business metrics.
  • Support the coordination of communication and information flow between the legal department and other business units.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with firm and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Technology, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in business process improvement, data analysis, or operations required.
  • Experience in a legal, financial services, or creditors' rights environment preferred.

  • Proficiency with Excel or other data analysis/reporting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand technical systems and how they impact business operations.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of SQL or experience working with data queries.
  • Familiarity with process mapping and workflow design.
  • Experience with legal document management systems or case management software.
