The Event Sales Associate is the face of our company, the glue that binds our client to their consumer, and a key contributor to the overall event and sales experience. In this role, you will engage directly with customers at coordinated sales events, recommend appropriate AT&T wireless products, and drive sales while maintaining the highest level of customer service and care. This role blends sales and event coordination – ideal for professionals who thrive in high energy environments while building relationships and achieving targets.
Key Responsibilities of the Event Sales Associate:
- Create meaningful first impressions by greeting and engaging customers at coordinated sales events, ensuring every interaction feels welcoming, genuine, and memorable.
- Assess customer needs in real time by actively listening, asking thoughtful questions, and identifying opportunities to connect them with the most suitable AT&T wireless products and services.
- Deliver clear, confident, in-person sales presentations that simplify product options, address customer questions, and guide them through the entire enrollment and purchasing process.
- Facilitate seamless sales transactions, including product recommendations, plan comparisons, order entry, and post-purchase support to ensure full customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Maintain a polished and high-impact event environment, ensuring displays, demo devices, branded materials, and retail floor setups remain organized, visually compelling, and aligned with AT&T's standards.
- Elevate the customer experience by resolving questions or concerns promptly while upholding the highest level of professionalism, care, and service excellence.
Qualifications for Success:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, marketing, or communication is a bonus.
- 0–2 years of experience in customer service, retail, events, or sales; entry-level candidates with strong people skills are encouraged to apply.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly build trust and connect with diverse customers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence in adapting on the fly during fast-paced event environments.
- A self-motivated, upbeat, and team-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to help customers and drive sales outcomes.
- Comfortable working in dynamic, high-energy retail and event spaces with consistent customer interaction.
Event Sales Associate Position Details:
- Employment Type: Full-time, W-4 employee
- Compensation Structure: Hourly base pay plus uncapped commission. The listed pay range reflects the hourly base rate combined with the average commission earnings of a typical Event Sales Associate.
- Work Environment: This is an in-person, consumer-facing sales position conducted inside partnered retail locations and at coordinated promotional events.
- Primary Job Function: Engage directly with customers to conduct face-to-face sales presentations, assess needs, explain product options, and enroll qualified customers into wireless plans.
- Travel: Local travel may be required between partnered retail locations and scheduled events within the greater Portland area.
- Schedule: A standard full-time schedule, which may include weekdays, weekends, and some holidays depending on retail partner hours and event requirements.
- Work Location: All work is performed on-site at our partnering retail stores or designated AT&T event activation sites and our primary office in Portland, OR.
