Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Summary
The Vice President of Facilities will provide oversight, leadership and accountability for facilities, engineering, and maintenance operational performance to achieve the financial, strategic, and operational goals of Indus Hospitality Group, and protect the physical assets of the company. Key areas of responsibility will include hotel and quick service restaurant engineering support, creation, and implementation of engineering operations SOPs, driving the capital expenditure process for all assets. This role will identify and implement the most effective and efficient Engineering support business model to accommodate operating, growth & scalability goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, update and implement Facilities operational policies, Standard Operating Procedures and best practices across the portfolio.
- This position will be the administrator of the Facilities' work order tracking system and will provide monthly reporting on work order tickets, identifying trends and work proactively to establish efficiencies.
- Serve as the primary consultant and technical expert for property-level facilities issues, providing guidance and solutions for complex engineering and maintenance challenges.
- Conduct weekly meetings to plan, prioritize and coordinate the activities of direct reports to ensure effective communication and goal alignment.
- Oversee compliance with Brand Standards, OSHA, ADA and other local State and Federal regulations.
- Support sustainability initiatives, energy management programs and environmental efficiency efforts.
- Conduct Periodic audits to ensure adherence to safety and maintenance standards.
- Lead enterprise level contract negotiations and management for Facility related services including, HVAC, Elevator, Fire Life Safety, Waste Management, Snow Plowing, Landscaping, etc.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure all agreements comply with company objectives and standards.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance programs, life-safety systems, and environmental compliance are actively managed and documented.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with preferred vendors and contractors, ensuring consistency, quality and cost efficiency across the portfolio.
- Collaborate with property leadership on capital planning, budgeting, and execution of engineering-related projects.
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and technical support to hotel engineering and maintenance teams.
- Develop training programs and technical resources to elevate engineering skill sets and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Review, analyze, and improve building system performance to maximize efficiency and minimize utility consumption.
- Serve as the administrator for the company's work order and preventive maintenance management system, ensuring all properties maintain accurate, timely, and complete records of maintenance activities.
- Provide monthly performance and compliance reports on work order completion rates, preventive maintenance adherence, and open items by property.
- Analyze data trends from the work order system to identify recurring issues, training needs, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Participate in development and updating of Crisis Management and Emergency Preparedness manuals at all locations with appropriate SOPs and procedures.
Requirements
- We are looking for a self-motivated Vice President of Facilities with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations with great communication skills.
- Specific qualifications for the role include:
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive engineering and facilities management experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Multi-property or regional-level experience required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and building automation systems.
- Proven success in managing budgets, capital projects, and vendor relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Workpulse or preventive maintenance software preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with demonstrated ability to present complex data to facilitate analysis and decision-making. Ability to summarize information for senior management consumption.
- Ability to travel for property audits and inspections, at a minimum of 25% weekly, may vary based on business needs.
