About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Administrator I to support the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of our enterprise network infrastructure. This position is ideal for an early-career IT professional with 3–4 years of experience in network administration or support who is eager to develop advanced skills in a secure, enterprise environment.
The Network Administrator I will assist in maintaining reliable connectivity, implementing basic network configurations, and troubleshooting issues in coordination with senior network engineers. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible for a Public Trust clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of LAN/WAN environments, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Assist in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting VLANs, VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues under senior guidance.
- Manage basic DNS, DHCP, and IP address assignments (IPAM).
- Perform regular device updates, backups, and documentation of network configurations.
- Support firewall administration tasks and enforce standard security practices.
- Assist with incident response and escalation procedures.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, inventories, and support documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 3–4 years of experience in network administration or IT infrastructure support.
- Strong foundational understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Experience with VPNs, wireless networking, and remote access solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of zero trust best practice principles.
- Active CCNA certification required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to firewall administration (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, or Fortinet).
- Knowledge of Microsoft and cloud networking fundamentals (Azure, AWS).
- Familiarity with Cisco SDA, SD-WAN, ACI, VoIP, QoS.
- Basic scripting experience (Ansible or Python) is a plus.
- Desire to pursue advanced certifications (CCNP, Security+, etc.).
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in: Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field; or equivalent experience.
