Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Representative at our Corporate Office in Richmond, Virginia. This position requires frequent and accurate communication with internal and external customers including manufacturing and sales personnel.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for the management of order entry procedures from initial placement of order to final invoicing.

Your additional responsibilities as the Customer Service Representative will include:

  • Order Entry for Chemicals and Chemical Systems in SAP.
  • Coordinate information between corporate, plant, sales, logistics, and customer.
  • Manage customer information in SAP (price, terms, freight, and products).
  • Process, audit, and mail invoices to customers.
  • Process, audit, and enter SAP billing adjustments.
  • Provide sales support.
  • Complete paperwork for tote and pressure bottle returns.
  • Assist plants in processing orders.
  • Obtain tax certificates.
  • Maintain customer price quote file.
  • Answer customer questions and provide feedback as required.
  • Maintain policy, duties, and group contact list.
  • Review open order summary for potential issues.
  • Assist with TDS and SDS documentation as needed.
  • Interact with the credit department to ensure on time shipments.
  • Assist in special projects.

Skills/ Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years of customer service/sales experience in an office environment
  • Intermediate typing and Microsoft Office skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment
