The Houston Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Part-Time Event Coordinator to join our team at the Greer and Lowdermilk Conference Center, located on our Houston campus.

This on-call role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in executing flawless events. You'll be part of a collaborative team that ensures every client receives a 5-star experience—from planning to execution.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Event Coordinator works as part of the Conference Center Managing Team to plan, organize, and oversee corporate and social events. This role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Guide clients through the event process from start to finish
  • Maintain detailed records in booking software
  • Conduct weekly facility inspections and report deficiencies
  • Create event diagrams, checklists, and Banquet Event Orders
  • Schedule contract labor, security, HVAC, and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with ADA, COI, and Houston Fire Code regulations

Event Day Execution

  • Conduct pre-event and post-event inspections
  • Oversee setup, monitor event flow, and enforce policies
  • Serve as on-site representative throughout the event
  • Communicate with vendors and security
  • Perform site tours, cleaning, and miscellaneous tasks during downtime
  • Follow emergency procedures and report concerns to management

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 24 per week
