The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is currently seeking a Health Services Nursing Coordinator, to serve as the Clinical Quality Director for our Veterans Homes in King and Union Grove. Our Homes are 24/7/365 long-term care facilities that specialize in providing comfort, support, and professional medical services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. This position is headquartered at our Central Office on Rimrock Road in Madison, located conveniently off the Beltline just five minutes from Downtown.

Position Summary

Would you like to apply your clinical quality expertise in the service of Wisconsin veterans?

The Health Services Nursing Coordinator (Clinical Quality Director) provides leadership to WDVA's Veterans Homes Division regarding all aspects of quality management including establishing a systematic approach for program implementation and evaluation, setting clinical priorities, providing education, mentoring leadership, monitoring progress, and evaluating clinical services. The position acts in collaboration with the Homes Division Administrator regarding oversight of all Wisconsin Veterans Homes by setting the strategic health care initiatives, setting division-level clinical education plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, and offering recommendations to the Division Administrator and Homes Commandants regarding clinical care delivery.

Salary Information

Starting salary will be between $141,440 and $149,760 per year, depending on candidate qualifications.

Health Services Nursing Coordinator is in pay schedule-pay range Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. Starting pay for current State employees may vary based on applicable provisions in the Compensation Plan.

Job Details

This job requires adjusting or increasing work hours as needed to meet the Home's operational needs and the ability to serve as Acting Director of Nursing Services when DON position/s are vacant.

Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

A two-year Career Executive trial period may be required.

Qualifications

The required credential is:

  • Wisconsin Registered Nurse license by the date of appointment

In addition to the license, required qualifications that will be reviewed in the first step of the process are experience:

  • Leading and directing clinical operations for an organization; and
  • Providing nursing services in a long-term care setting

In addition to the qualifications reviewed in the first step of the process, qualifications that will be reviewed in next steps are experience:

  • With federal and state regulatory requirements for healthcare*
  • Guiding Quality Assurance-Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives*
  • Managing services processes in an organization
  • Managing projects
  • With professional communication on an interdisciplinary team
