Position Overview
The Head of Wholesale will contribute to MCM's success by creating the direction and leadership for the MCM wholesale strategy as well as respective business planning. This is a key role for the America's and is an integral part of the MCM long-term growth strategy by driving sales growth through strategic partnerships with major accounts in the America's. The Director of Wholesale will be responsible tolead profitable, sustainable market share and net sales growth in responsible distribution and key accounts while respecting the image of the MCM brand.
In this critical role, the qualified individual will passionately lead the respective channel team in identifying accounts, developing business operating models with profitable growth of the MCM brand across the region. The position reports to the President of NCSA and will require strong partnership with key leaders across the region
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a wholesale strategy that engages key stakeholders and aligns with MCM's long-range goals to drive revenue growth and expand market share. This includes setting strategic and operational plans, ensuring seamless execution, and measuring performance against defined KPIs.
- Identify new market opportunities and client partnerships that align with MCM's wholesale growth vision, with a focus on building sustainable and profitable relationships.
- Prioritize and drive high-impact initiatives by evaluating opportunities, articulating business cases, and aligning with leadership on strategic priorities.
- Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with key sales partners in accordance with MCM's global acquisition strategy — defining targets, negotiating agreements, and winning deals in close collaboration with global sales teams.
- Lead end-to-end market planning across the Americas, identifying and prioritizing territories with the highest growth potential and aligning partner segmentation to maximize results.
- Oversee regional controlled retail expansion, ensuring both short-term and long-term objectives support MCM's three-year growth plan, while driving operational and financial excellence.
- Continuously analyze the competitive landscape and market conditions to anticipate risks, identify new opportunities, and recommend proactive strategies to maintain MCM's market leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the wholesale sales team, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration
Experience & Key Competencies
- 10+ years of progressive wholesale leadership experience, with a strong track record of driving growth and building high-performing teams; luxury retail experience strongly preferred.
- Established relationships with key department stores and strategic partners, with the ability to leverage networks to secure and expand market presence.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including talent development, team building, and effective resource management.
- Deep understanding of the luxury consumer mindset, with the ability to anticipate trends and tailor strategies to elevate brand desirability.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable strategies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of wholesale operations and financial management, including P&L oversight, forecasting, and budget accountability.
