A leading New York law firm is seeking a skilled
Accounting Manager
to oversee the firm's day-to-day financial operations, including billing, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and multi-state payroll.

This position is perfect for a proactive, detail-driven professional who enjoys taking ownership of financial processes in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily accounting functions—A/P, A/R, and payroll across multiple states.
  • Handle reconciliations, cash receipts, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain robust internal controls to protect firm assets and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the billing team on LEDES/e-billing and address any invoice discrepancies.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts in QuickBooks and prepare reports to support budgeting and management decisions.
  • Streamline workflows and introduce process improvements to boost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise and guide accounting team members, encouraging growth and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, ideally with prior law firm experience in a managerial role.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs).
  • Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
