This is a partial week & weekend position, working most Saturdays and or Sundays as needed, requiring lifting, moving, handling event rentals, and other party setup services. You must be able to and or learn how to drive a 20' truck to deliver and execute events by yourself and or with a team.
Who We Are
The Simple Luxe Events & Builds is a full-service experiential design, fabrication, and event production company specializing in unique brand activations, corporate events, and private celebrations. We're known for our eye-catching backdrops, large-scale balloon installations, florals, custom crafts, and specialty rentals like kid's soft play entertainment. We've done events for Sports Illustrated, Beekman, Benev, Capitol Food Co, KMPG, Alicia Keys Soulcare and so many other amazing companies.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be a part of our creative and production team, working closely with our lead designer, learning our styling and creative eye to: 1) produce/prepare event rentals and props 2) deliver and execute/style our services from backdrop displays, welcome displays, and setting up rental items like chairs, tables, linen etc 3) crucial requirement to photograph and shoot short video clips (on an iPhone) for our social media content. Experience is a plus but we are more than willing to train the right candidate
Weekly responsibilities include warehouse organizing, pulling and painting party rentals (mostly wood backdrops) and party props (character / themed prints and custom fabrications), create vinyl via the Cricut machine, application, and blowing balloons (with a pump and we'll train). After preparation of rentals and props, you'll stage and create stunning balloon backdrop installations along with other creative services we offer like working with floral and crafts.
To prepare for weekly execution, you'll be responsible for driving our company vehicles from daily cars, to high roof, long wheel base transits, to 16-20' box trucks. Additional responsibilities include packing vehicles, loading and unloading, lifting and being on your feet. Orders may be delivered to private homes, rented venues from hotels, community centers, parks, etc. Depending on the size of deliveries, you may go out on your own and or be a part of a team for execution. Onsite, you'll interface with clients for setup locations, safely maneuver rentals/services, and execute in a timely manner. Time management is crucial to complete each order as we may deliver and set up multiple events per day.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Event Prep & Production
- Organizing, painting, and pulling rentals (backdrops etc), props, etc
- Painting/Prepping backdrops and props using brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- Assisting with real/silk floral arrangements, crafts, and other creative setups
- Running errands for materials like prints, paint, and event supplies
- Creating Cricut vinyl designs and application
- Blowing up balloons and balloon installations (trust us, anyone can do it)
- Keeping warehouse, workspace and inventory organized and well-maintained
Event Execution
- Must be willing to learn or know how to drive a 20' truck for deliveries
- Setting up, styling full backdrops and balloon designs along with any other services we offer in a timely manner (some event setups are 30 minutes while others are hours long) each event is different and you must be able to manage your time, work in a fast-pace environment, execute by yourself and or with a team (after training)
- Loading, unloading, and setting up event installations at private venues and homes (requires lifting, moving, long standing, physical activity)
- Executing event designs according to mockups and client expectations
- meet and greet clients at venues, homes & businesses in a professional manner
- Must have a sense of direction and work under pressure
Creative Content & Organization (Bonus if you have experience We're happy to train.)
- Shoot product photography and short video content onsite for social media
- Supporting team with any other tasks / operations as needed to completion
Who We're Looking For
- The ideal candidate has a passion for styling visually striking experiences and bringing concepts to life through event décor and styling
- Good listener, follows directions with a strong sense of direction, & attention to detail
- Hardworking and eager to learn new skills with an go-getter personality
- A team player with a positive attitude who can take initiative and complete tasks with little to no supervision
- Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment (work under high pressure to finish weekly production and execution onsite)
- Comfortable working with tools (basic drills, screws) light sanding, painting, crafting, and designing crafts (willing to train)
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working on their feet
- Open to working weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime when needed
- some experience with date entry, adobe photoshop, etc a plus
Experience in the event industry, balloon décor, or design is great, but not required—we're happy to train the right person
Schedule & Compensation
- Weekly Hours: Tuesday–Saturday (weekend events may require schedule adjustments)
- Weekend Work: Most events happen on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays
- Weekend Shifts: Vary depending on event start and end times (some early mornings, late nights, or full-day setups)
- Compensation: Based on experience $20-25/hr
- NDA Required: All team members must sign a non-disclosure agreement
