Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist.  Our current Interventional products include a broad range of clinically relevant solutions, such as our GuideLiner and Turnpike Catheters, Ringer Perfusion Balloon Catheter, AC3 Optimus and AC3 Range Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and the OnControl Powered Bone Access System. Teleflex's product portfolio now also includes Passeo-18 Lux Peripheral Drug-Coated Balloon Catheter, Pantera Lux Drug-Coated Balloon Catheter, Orsiro Mission Drug-Eluting Stent, the PK Papyrus Covered Coronary Stent, and more.  With a strong R&D footprint and pipeline, our fast-growing Interventional business unit is poised to continue the development of new technologies to serve critically ill patients for years to come. This is a 12-week, paid, on-site summer internship in either Chelmsford, Massachusetts or Maple Grove, Minnesota.  The intern is responsible for completing tasks and projects as assigned by engineering. The goal is to introduce the intern to the professional world while still completing value added tasks.

• Work on value added engineering projects.
  • Example: Design a fixture to make a process more consistent. Use Solidworks to model the fixture and have a prototype created (3D Print, CNC Mill, etc.).
  • Example: Create DOEs (Design of Experiments) to determine how physical properties (tensile strength, kink resistance, torque) are changed by altering materials.
  • Example: Evaluate a SIC (Supplier Initiated Change) to a commercialized product by assessing impact to product sterility, biocompatibility, and performance.
  • Example: Develop and test software in multiple levels/areas iuncuding embedded processing/driver development and GUI development. 
• Participate in team meetings, project meetings, and town halls.
• Follow quality procedures and understands the Teleflex documentation system during the manufacturing and development process.
• Provide R&D support for verification, qualification, and validation studies on existing products.
• Assists with problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Collect, process, and analyze data.
• Assess proposed design and process changes for the impact to the product.
• Support multiple projects with competing priorities, engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support cost improvement activities and non-conformance investigations.
• Utilize engineering acumen to identify and promote improvement activities across the organization
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in an Engineering Bachelor's degree program.
• Pursing Computer Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree. 
• Open to lower and upperclassmen.

• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Ability to collaborate with others.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently.
• C and/or C++ Language Skills, Qt knowledge a plus. 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $19-$27 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
