Department Summary The Development team is a dedicated group of fundraising and donor engagement professionals committed to advancing Search for Common Ground's mission through philanthropy. We cultivate relationships with individuals, foundations, and key stakeholders to secure unrestricted and semi-restricted funding, supporting the US Board's Advancement Committee and ensuring sustainable financial resources for peacebuilding initiatives. Working closely with Marketing & Communications and other departments, we build a strong philanthropic donor pipeline, craft compelling messaging to make our Case for Support, and expand Search's Major Gifts program to enhance our ability to secure and steward high-impact philanthropic contributions. Additionally, we ensure that fundraising systems, policies, and donor management tools are optimized to enable successful philanthropy and long-term donor relationships. Position Summary The Officer, Market-Level Gifts & Donor Care, provides essential support to the Development team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring an efficient donor care function and a seamless donor experience through thoughtful communication, attention to detail, and proactive engagement. The Officer also manages a portfolio of market-level donors ($500–$999), contributing to the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of these relationships to strengthen donor retention and engagement, aligning with Search's fundraising goals.Key Responsibilities: Donor Care & Inbox ManagementMonitor the Development inbox daily and maintain an "inbox zero" practice.Triage messages to the appropriate staff or departments.Respond to simple donor inquiries using approved templates.Log all donor correspondence in Salesforce.Serve as the primary point of contact for donor care via email, Drift, and phone./div>Key Responsibilities: Donor Support & AcknowledgmentRoute donor donations to the appropriate stakeholder to prevent duplication and ensure timely allocation.Prepare and send thank-you messages for new one-time and monthly donors.Manage donor appreciation activities, including quarterly thank-you calls and responding to natural disasters.Draft and edit donor communications, including appeals, development updates, thank-you letters, and special fundraising content (welcome series, interest surveys, holiday campaigns, etc.).Send mass communications and manage mailing lists through EveryAction./div>Key Responsibilities: Donation Processing & Data ManagementManage failed payments, coordinate refunds, and track follow-up and resolution.Enter and maintain accurate data in EveryAction and Salesforce to ensure complete and up-to-date donor records.Store and track key documentation, including donation confirmations, acknowledgments, and financial/legal records.Support ongoing data cleanup and reporting projects./div>Key Responsibilities: Market-Level Donor Stewardship ($500–$999)Manage and cultivate a portfolio of market-level donors, developing and executing strategies to identify, solicit, and steward relationships.Collaborate with the Development, Programs, and Communications teams to gather project information, develop offers, and draft impact reports for donors.Maintain detailed records of donor interactions and "moves" in Salesforce; prepare regular reports and portfolio updates.Support senior leadership, donor visits, and engagement activities as needed./div>Key Responsibilities: Collaboration & Values IntegrationInfuse organizational values into all donor communications and relationships.Collaborate across departments to ensure donor care and stewardship are aligned with organizational priorities.Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the role./div>Competency Behavior Indicators (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Initiate brainstorming or problem-solving meetings.
