SMS has a full-time opportunity for a candidate to join the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Development Operations team at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM.

The ideal candidate provides application development support to AFRL by comprehending industry standard software engineering methodologies and applying these techniques while developing and maintaining application solutions. The candidate should have Microsoft SharePoint Site Collection Administrator experience and be familiar with implementing processes that streamline and simplify information management and collaboration. Applicants should have a general comprehension of SharePoint architecture principles and possess experience in providing support for maintaining and securing the platform and monitoring system usage to optimize performance. The candidate will be required to develop software in support of all software life-cycle activities with a focus on Agile/Scrum methodologies, using modern development platforms, based on AFRL application requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and customize SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and permissions.
  • Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.
  • Low code/no code environments including workflows integrating customer business rules. (SharePoint Workflows, O365 - Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps).
  • Analyze existing code (ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS) and requirements for replacement in new environments.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy applications utilizing coding technologies including but not limited to JavaScript, CSS, HTML, ASP.NET, and/or C#.
  • Develop and customize SharePoint solutions using Power Automate (Flow), Power Apps, Power BI and other relevant technologies.
  • Create and maintain custom SharePoint web parts, workflows, forms, and applications to meet specific business requirements.
  • Implement and manage SharePoint branding and themes.

Qualifications
Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business Management or MIS related field preferred, or experience in lieu of degree; High School diploma required if no existing higher education diploma
  • Three to five years' experience in software development in a web environment, MS SharePoint, and .NET web development, and experience with DISA security standardization processes and application of DISA STIGs.
  • Exhibit familiarity with the following Microsoft platform tools: SharePoint 2013, O365 (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Forms)
  • Must possess refined critical thinking skills, be a self-starter, able to direct the activities of other team members, and be diplomatic
  • Capable of multi-tasking, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable, and reliable.
  • Experience with Site Collection Management/Administration of MS SharePoint 2013/2016/Online
  • Experience in assisting individuals in problem solving utilizing the potential of SharePoint as it relates to their job function.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders/users.
  • Ability to apply standard software engineering methods and project lifecycle management techniques to deliver sound software and documentation.
  • Ability to write and update user and administrator documentation for applications. (All documentation will be in compliance with customer specifications)
  • Assist in project development including capturing functional and technical requirements.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with other developers.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to agile/scrum software development processes.
  • Possess an understanding of code design industry standards/style guides to standardize code formatting and increase peer review efficiency.
  • Familiarity applying Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides (DISA STIGs) to include the Web Server STIG, Application Security and Development STIG, SQL Server STIG, and the Cloud SRG.
  • Prior experience in a government consulting services environment is preferred.
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance is required or the ability to obtain an Interim clearance
  • Minimum DoD 8570 IAT-II (Sec+ CE) certification required
