We are seeking a skilled and analytical Credit Director to oversee all aspects of our company's credit and collections functions. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of financial risk management, a commitment to operational excellence, and a collaborative leadership style that supports both business growth and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or a minimum of five years related work experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous managerial experience leading accounts receivable and/or collection managers
- Ability to effectively communicate with senior level management team on departments performance, goals, budgets, etc.
- Ability to effectively prepare and communicate budgetary needs
- Ability to read and write general business correspondence
- Ability to analyze and interpret reports, technical procedures, regulations, and policies
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, or public
- Ability to search files and databases and compile information gathered into reports
- Ability to analyze financial information, and calculate figures and amounts
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form and solve problems involving several concrete variables
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of NetSuite, and Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Background in warehousing, distribution, and/or waterworks industry
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience with NCS, Dun & Bradstreet, and other credit resources
- Knowledge of sales tax guidelines including taxable and nontaxable sales, tax exempt certificates and compliance of exempt status
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all credit and collections functions within the organization.
- Develop and administer credit policies.
- Evaluate and improve collection effectiveness.
- Proactively manage the aging of accounts receivable by ensuring timely collection of payments while maintaining positive relationships with customers.
- Manage the process for establishing and approving new customer accounts.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and payment histories of customers to gauge risk levels.
- Use statistical algorithms to develop a credit scoring model that assesses creditworthiness.
- Provide guidance to sales staff regarding business prospects with the best potential for conversion and long-term profitability for business growth and optimization.
- Optimize cash flow by implementing measures to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Collaborate with external collection agencies for effective debt recovery.
- Work with new customers to negotiate loan terms that are both fair and compliant with regulations.
- Resolve disputes and delinquent accounts through negotiation.
- Regularly review and update policies to align with changing business needs and industry regulations.
- Supervise, train, and manage the performance of credit department staff members.
- Support and carryout directives set forth by the Senior Management team.
- Collaborate with Outside Sales and Branch Operation leaders as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
