Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing effective safety programs. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and providing training to employees on safety protocols.

Duties

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs that align with EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations.
  • Provide training and development sessions for employees on topics such as first aid, CPR, and occupational health practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance issues for management review.
  • Stay updated on workers' compensation laws, EPA regulations, and industry best practices to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the workplace.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in first aid and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation laws and processes.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Excellent report writing skills for documenting safety audits and incidents.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis for accidents or near misses.
  • Strong communication skills for effective training and employee engagement.
