Appellate Specialist
to join the team in
Washington, D.C.

Who You Are

  • You bring at least 10 years of experience in appellate work
  • Hold a bachelor's degree; JD is a strong plus
  • Deep knowledge of SCOTUS and federal/state appellate procedures
  • Exceptional Bluebook and cite checking expertise
  • Skilled in legal writing and research
  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, iManage, Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, and CM/ECF

What You'll Do

  • Draft, revise, and finalize appellate filings including briefs, motions, and petitions
  • Prepare oral argument materials such as binders
  • Compile appellate records and appendices from trial documents and transcripts
  • Format documents, proofread, apply Bluebook standards, and prepare tables
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and court personnel
  • Conduct legal research on appellate rules and procedures
  • E-file with SCOTUS and federal/state appellate courts
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules
  • Track appellate law developments for litigation teams
  • Submit timekeeping reports

  • You serve as a trusted resource for attorneys and litigation teams on appellate matters

Salary Range:
$115,000 – 140,000 annually, based on experience

Location:
Washington, D.C. – Hybrid
