Job Overview:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with hands-on experience in aerospace or precision rework environments, specifically involving lathes, mills, grinders, and tight-tolerance hardware. This role provides centralized support for high-priority military production programs, with a strong focus on Material Review Board (MRB) activities and the creation of rework instructions to drive timely resolution of nonconforming hardware and aged Work-In-Progress (WIP).

The ideal candidate brings direct, practical experience reworking complex machined parts, along with the ability to analyze technical issues, interpret metrology data, and write effective rework instructions that align with engineering intent and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

* Lead or support Material Review Board (MRB) processes: submit, track, disposition, and document MRB cases, particularly for aged WIP

* Write clear, technically sound rework instructions for nonconforming parts and assemblies

* Collaborate closely with quality, engineering, and production teams to ensure dispositioned hardware is routed correctly for rework, repair, or scrap

* Interpret CMM reports, technical drawings, and dimensional data to inform rework planning

* Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) analysis and support closure of quality issues

* Contribute to rework planning, shop floor troubleshooting, and process improvements

* Provide technical guidance on machining-based rework using lathes, mills, and grinders

* Track and document nonconformance activity and WIP status for reporting and escalation

Core Qualifications:

* Hands-on experience operating or supporting CNC/manual lathes, mills, and grinders in a rework or repair context

* Strong familiarity with tight-tolerance machining and inspection of aerospace components

* Proficiency with metrology tools: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, and interpreting CMM outputs

* Direct involvement in MRB processes and nonconformance documentation

* Demonstrated ability to write clear, actionable rework instructions

* Working knowledge of GD&T and structured problem-solving (RCCA, 5-Why, fishbone)

* Strong communication and technical writing skills; able to work across production, quality, and engineering

* U.S. Citizenship required due to export control regulations

Preferred Traits & Skills:

* Background as a machinist, technician, or rework operator who transitioned into engineering

* Experience in repair/overhaul or sustainment environments

* Holds Preliminary Review Certification (PRC), or has experience performing initial assessments of nonconforming hardware prior to MRB

* Proactive and self-directed, with strong organizational and documentation skills

* Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with high accountability to quality and delivery standards
