Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or those in need of assistance in a group home setting. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive care and support.

Duties

  • Monitor patients' health and well-being, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and cooking nutritious meals.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Take and record vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Lift and assist residents with mobility challenges, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is a plus.
  • Ability assist residents with mobility challenges.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
  • A caring attitude and commitment to providing high-quality support are crucial for success in this role.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or state ID and social security card
  • Must complete CPR/First aid within 30 days of hire
  • Must complete TB test and physical within 30 days of hire
  • Must complete VCE's within 60 days of hire
