ROLE SUMMARY
As a Server at Fishbar, you will be the ambassador of the guest experience: delivering curated hospitality, deep menu knowledge, and seamless execution from start to finish. You will collaborate with the culinary and beverage teams, support operational flow, and ensure each guest departs with a memorable impression. Your commitment to the craft of service will reflect the strategic standards of Southern Cross Hospitality and drive the success of the venue.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver gracious, confident service consistent with our elevated coastal dining concept.
- Present menus, describe offerings (seafood, wood-fired produce, wine, cocktails) with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Take and serve guest orders efficiently and accurately; manage timing and table turnover in coordination with kitchen and bar.
- Maintain awareness of ongoing covers, pace of service, and guest needs proactively.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless guest journey: hosts, bussers, sommeliers, kitchen.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation at your station.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests and discreetly resolve service issues in real time.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down service areas; maintain knowledge of specials, sourcing, preparation methods.
- Operate POS system (Toast preferred) and process transactions accurately.
- Maintain professional demeanor, polished appearance, and aligned behavior with brand ethos at all times.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of server experience in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to articulate menu, wine and cocktail elements with confidence.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced service environment while maintaining composure.
- Demonstrated passion for food, wine and elevating guest experiences.
- Proficiency in POS systems, familiarity with cash/credit transactions preferred.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by service schedule.
- Valid server certification / alcohol service permit (as required by Georgia law) preferred.
- Genuine interest in teamwork, hospitality excellence and continuous improvement.
