ROLE SUMMARY
As a Host at Fishbar, you are the first and final impression of the guest experience. You set the tone—calm, poised, and welcoming. The ideal candidate understands pace, timing, and hospitality flow. You'll coordinate reservations, manage the dining room with precision, and ensure every guest feels seen, valued, and gracefully guided through their visit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Warmly welcome and seat guests with genuine professionalism and composure.
- Manage reservations and guest flow through OpenTable or similar systems with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of floor layout, table turns, and pacing to ensure smooth service flow.
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen teams to align on guest timing and service priorities.
- Anticipate guest needs—remember names, special occasions, preferences, and table requests.
- Handle phone inquiries, waitlist management, and walk-ins with tact and hospitality.
- Maintain organization and presentation of the host stand and entryway throughout service.
- Uphold the Fishbar standard of refined yet effortless hospitality at all times.
- Support management with guest relations and feedback follow-up when needed.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ year of host, concierge, or front-of-house experience in a fine-dining or upscale casual restaurant.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills; thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Professional appearance, polished demeanor, and an instinct for gracious hospitality.
- Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation systems preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
