Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will inspire our culinary staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. Duties
- Support the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation for various service outlets such as restaurants, banquets, and catering events
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages culinary creativity and professional development
- Oversee inventory management and control to ensure proper stock levels, minimize waste, and maintain cost efficiency
- Assist with menu planning by developing innovative dishes that meet quality standards and guest expectations
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas
- Coordinate shift management by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and maintaining smooth workflow during service hours
- Manage dietary requirements by collaborating with the dietary department to accommodate special requests and ensure compliance with health guidelines
- Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Maintain high standards of hospitality by ensuring timely food service and exceptional presentation for all dining occasions
Skills
- Extensive experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in food production and culinary arts
- Proven supervisory experience leading kitchen teams in high-volume settings such as restaurants or banquet halls
- Knowledge of banquet operations and catering services with the ability to manage large-scale events efficiently
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members effectively
- Expertise in inventory management, cost control, and food ordering processes
- Solid understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation standards within the food industry
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management with a focus on quality and consistency
- Familiarity with dietary accommodations and working closely with dietary departments for special needs
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with front-of-house staff and other departments
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
