Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Manager, Special Projects to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. You can be a part of a highly professional North American Disaster Relief team. In this role, you will provide leadership and coordination for the North American Disaster Relief (NADR) Special Projects program, which delivers tangible disaster relief assistance such as gift cards, vehicles, campers, generators, furniture & appliances, and financial aid to families in crisis. You will ensure effective coordination between the Special Projects field teams, NADR Operations Center, Procurement, and partner organizations to provide compassionate and efficient service. A day in the life of a Manager, Special Projects:

In the role of Manager, Special Projects, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
• Develop and maintain systems for the rapid mobilization of Special Projects resources (gift cards, vehicles, campers, generators, etc.) in coordination with the NADR Operations Center.
• Train and develop the Forward Operating Base Specialist, Needs Assessment Specialist, Procurement Specialist as well as Program Managers, Assistant Program Managers and Site Leadership Teams regarding all aspects of Special Projects activities. In conjunction with the Manager, Training, develop a formal Special Projects training that formalizes this capability.
• Conduct rapid needs assessments to validate disaster victim needs and prioritize assistance distribution.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local emergency management offices and churches for coordinated disaster relief planning and implementation.
• Oversee readiness of pre-positioned Special Projects inventory and ensure equipment, documentation, and staffing remain in deployable condition.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and resource-tracking systems for field deployment.
• Deploy immediately during disaster activations to provide on-site leadership, coordination, and oversight of Special Projects operations.
• Coordinate with the NADR Operations Center, Procurement, and Air Response Team to facilitate transportation and delivery of relief items.
• Provide real-time feedback during disaster activations to refine plans, improve effectiveness, and ensure ministry impact.
• Maintain accurate records of distributed aid, budgets, and donor reporting requirements.
• Participate in After-Action Reviews (AARs) to identify lessons learned and integrate them into future readiness and training efforts.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree and a minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced understanding of National Incident Management System (NIMS) / Incident Command System (ICS) frameworks and field coordination systems.
• Strong leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary disaster response teams.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct needs assessments and implement rapid response operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory/resource tracking systems.
• Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies preferred, not required.
