Linux System Administrator with Cloud Experience

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Common Core Roles:

  • Datadog Dashboards and Monitors: Set up, configure, and maintain Datadog dashboards and monitors to ensure comprehensive visibility into system performance and health.
  • Datadog Integrations: Collaborate with the engineering team to implement and manage Datadog integrations across servers, containers, and application codebases.
  • Monitoring Expansion: Evaluate and recommend opportunities to enhance monitoring and metric collection using Datadog or compatible third-party integrations to improve system observability.
  • Linux and Container Support: Assist the engineering team with general Linux server administration and container management tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • AWS Migration Support: Support cloud migrations by setting up AWS services, contributing to migration planning, and maintaining operational procedures and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or a related role.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Datadog for dashboard creation, monitoring, and integrations.
  • Experience with Linux server administration and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud migration processes.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and integration tasks.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on documentation and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate) or Datadog.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with monitoring tools.
