Building Material Paint Sprayer

Department: Paint

Reports To: Production Supervisor or Plant Manager

Location: Mt. Pleasant Mills

Job Summary:

The Building Material Paint Sprayer is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing building materials such as wood, composite, or other non-metal components using spray-painting equipment. This role ensures products meet quality standards for color, texture, and finish while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, or priming as needed.

· Operate spray-painting equipment to apply coatings to building materials (e.g., doors, panels, trim).

· Mix paints, stains, or coatings according to required specifications.

· Ensure consistent coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality.

· Inspect finished products for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as needed.

· Maintain and clean spray guns, hoses, and other painting equipment.

· Follow all safety procedures related to paint application, chemical handling, and ventilation.

· Maintain records of paint use, colors, and completed work.

· Collaborate with production and quality control teams to meet project deadlines and specifications.

· Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties in the paint area.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

· 1–3 years of experience in industrial or building materials painting preferred.

· Familiarity with various spray systems (airless, HVLP, electrostatic, etc.).

· Knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing, and finishing techniques.

· Ability to read and follow work orders, color charts, and safety data sheets (SDS).

· Strong attention to detail and quality.

· Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

· Exposure to dust, and moderate noise levels.

· Personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including respirator, gloves, and safety glasses.

· Work may involve standing, bending, or reaching for long periods.

Job Type:

Full-time / 40 Hours Monday – Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm with overtime as needed Fridays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $22.30 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
