Directs statewide compliance of the Georgia Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. Establishes policy and procedures in compliance with rules, regulations, and codes. Ensure programs implemented are designed to protect employees and communities served. Directs subordinate staff. Provides direction and influence on agency policy. Reports to the EH Director.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) to provide continuous service to internal and external clients.
- Manages human resources and employee functions.
- Participates in the development and administration of the environmental health and CLPPP budgets; management of programmatic grant (s)
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the CLPPP
- Assures the services provided by the Department are adequate, appropriate, and accessible for the Childhood Lead Poisoning and Prevention Program.
- Set priorities and implements goals and objectives to meet or resolve CLPPP problems.
- Participates in or assesses internal/external customer needs and develops policies and plans based on data collection, activity reports, planning documents, program plans and objectives.
- Develop long-term (five year) and short term (one year) goals and objectives for the assigned CLPPP program and participates in the environmental health branch's strategic and operational planning.
- Plans and organizes assigned CLPPP program structure to meet environmental health branch organizational objectives.
- Maintains professional knowledge of current laws, policies, trends and developments in the field of CLPPP and applies pertinent new knowledge to performance of other responsibilities.
- Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation.
- Knowledge of EH Emergency Response plan and ESF 8 responsibilities; and Incident Command Structure.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which included the completion of 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory science (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) and five (5) years of professional-level experience performing work related to area of assignment, which includes two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or three (3) years as a District Mgr, PH Environ Hitch (RCM061) or position equivalent.

Master's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health or related field and 3 years professional level experience performing work related to area of assignment, 1 year of which was in a supervisory role OR Completion of a bachelor degree from an accredited four-year college or university with 27 semester hrs (40 quarter hrs) laboratory science and 5 years professional level experience performing work related to area of assignment, 2 years of which were in a supervisory role
- Current Registration as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Sanitarian by the National Environmental Health Association or an equivalent recognized credentialing board
- Current Lead Inspector Risk Assessor License
- Current Healthy Homes Specialist or equivalent
- Grant Management experience
- Completion of a Mangers Leadership Course
- Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 300/400, 700, 800
