Maintenance Supervisor

OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the team engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, equipment, and tools as well as buildings, grounds, and utility systems. Essential duties will be completed personally or through supervising and overseeing tasks and activities competed by direct reports. The person in this role will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts. The Maintenance Supervisor will be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations and perform administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment
- Manage and direct a team of mechanics and maintenance associates
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Reporting and Budgeting
- May need to work flexible shifts to include nights or weekends based on needs of the business.
- Performs duties of general help and job assignments as required.
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR DUTIES
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
- Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
- Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
- Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (facilities associates, sanitation, etc.)
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Control the budget and monitor expenses for maintenance department.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
- Ensure compliance of health and safety policies.
- Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Directs training of associates to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
All Live Comfortably associates play a crucial role in meeting our customer requirements and are expected after initial training to perform with minimal supervision. Associates may be asked to assist with other duties and work in other departments when needed to meet those requirements.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Industry knowledge and experience in all areas related to the above responsibilities.
- Experience in planning maintenance operations.
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- Facilities maintenance skills, building automation systems, electrical, HVAC, utilities, plumbing, hydraulics, building and grounds knowledge and ability to apply ro the facility maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
- Computer/System knowledge ie Windows and Web-based programs
- Understand GMP and Lean methodology.
- Understand Industrial Plant Safety and Environmental requirements
- English proficiency to include reading, writing and following directions
- Strong mathematical skills

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will frequently walk; reach with hands and arms and maneuver around work area throughout the shift. The associate may also spend a great deal of time sitting, squatting, reaching (at times above head) and using hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel. The Associate is occasionally required to balance, stoop and bends regularly to move/lift material or equipment (typically 50 lbs. or less).
The ability to hear and see with vision abilities in close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Manufacturing / Production Floor: While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate however there may be areas designated as Hearing Protection required and provided earplugs are mandatory in those areas. Mechanics may also be required to work in confined spaces, roofs and at ceiling height levels.
Not all areas of the plant and warehouse are climate controlled and exposure to heat and/or cold can occur. In addition, when outside work is required, exposure to extreme heat or cold can occur. The Associate is frequently exposed to dust and floating particles used in the manufacturing, storage and inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
