You will collaborate with design, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to pull together all the threads that help us deliver quality user experiences across the web and mobile.This team is responsible for the Coalition Control web application (as well as a few internal tools for administration and workflow efficiency). Policyholders and others use Control to understand their cyber risk profile and improve their security posture. The better visibility and tooling we give policyholders, the better they can protect themselves and get better terms in their coverage with Coalition. Win-winResponsibilitiesBuild high-quality user experiences for customer-facing security applications and internal toolsContribute to our technical excellence through participating in code reviews, writing comprehensive tests, building reusable components, and giving input into our technical roadmapPartner with Product Management and Design to sharpen requirements and solve customer needsCollaborate with other engineers to plan, design, build, test and release featuresWhile not a strict requirement, occasionally contribute to development of APIsSkills and QualificationsCuriosity and desire to learn how things work at the deepest levelsComputer Science degree or equivalent work experience0-2+ years of internship and/or professional software development experienceExperience building web-based user interfaces with modern JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS and REST APIsAbility to debug issues with tools like Chrome DevTools, Sentry and DataDogStrong product sense and the ability to navigate ambiguity / get work done without a fully-fleshed out spec thrown over the wall to youExperience with source control tools (e.g. git, GitHub)Experience working in an agile environmentExperience with AI dev tools (e.g. Cursor, CoPilot, etc.)Bonus SkillsExperience designing and building REST APIs with a server-side language (e.g. python)Familiarity with relational databases and SQLExperience with Experience with Material UI or similar component libraryExperience in cybersecurity (including coursework) or insuretechCompensationOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $93,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $138,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
