Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, and healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and well being. To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking an individual contributor to serve as our Program Manager for Worldwide WHS to build programs that create a safe workplace and build a world-class safety culture. In this role, you will dive deep into operations processes; identify risks through data and first-hand experience; build programs and improve processes to eliminate risks; and influence operations to sustain a culture of safety. This role will focus on leading large, strategic projects within Amazon Business Units (BUs) and across different geographies – the role will also look for ways to replicate these BU-specific solutions to other BUs, and find commonalities to support scale and speed.

The ideal candidate has an obsession for customers and a strong interest in building innovative solutions; must have proven analytical capabilities (including ability to deep dive, root cause and permanently eliminate hazards and risks) and ability to multi-task; and can thrive in a fast-paced environment with exceptional communication and project management skills. The ideal candidate must have great judgment, compassion, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in many areas across the company. This role calls for an individual who is technically smart to gain credibility with customers and stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

This position requires travel up to approximately 25%, when needed (and with appropriate health and safety conditions).

Key job responsibilities

The Program manager role will challenge you to push boundaries and lead transformative innovation while having the autonomy to make rapid data-driven decisions and invent on behalf of Operators (leaders) and Associates. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with members from various teams, including Operations; Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT); Amazon Robotics (AR); Inbound Supply Chain; Launch; Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP); Capacity Planning; Finance and others to deploy solutions at scale.

Performance Measurement and Data-driven decision support : Use high judgment to test assumptions and validate technical and business key performance indicators and their models . Establish metrics to measure success and ensure continuous improvement based on quantitative and qualitative feedback. Analyze complex data sets to drive program improvement.

Stakeholder and Customer Engagement: Manage stakeholder relationships across functions, effectively communicating vision and progress. Dive deep into customer feedback to understand pain points and drive solutions that meet their needs.

Operational Excellence and Change Management: Implement effective change management strategies for project launches and iterations. Maintain high standards for operational excellence, ensuring efficient processes and clear communication channels.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Product and Program Managers, engineering teams, and other cross-functional partners to ensure projects are delivered with high quality, leveraging strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure alignment and collaboration.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 2+ years of data visualization and reports tools experience
  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • 4+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
  • Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
  • 2+ years of data analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
