Content Director
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday–Friday Central Daylight Time (GMT-5)
Start: ASAP
Full-Time | Remote & In Person | High Autonomy | Must Move Fast
We're building a fast-moving portfolio of businesses in the home services and marketing space including a performance-driven agency, investment firm, and a growing list of service brands.
To do that well, our founder needs an exceptional Content Director. Someone who thrives in both strategy and execution, can manage content end-to-end across multiple platforms, and has the drive to create world-class work that converts.
The Mission of This Role
Build and scale the personal brand of our talent across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Podcasts, and other major content platforms. You will own the entire content process from idea to upload: strategy, production, vendor management, platform optimization, analytics, and reporting.
Your north star is creating content that converts, not just content that performs.
What You'll Own
- Content Strategy & Execution
- Develop and own the full content engine across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Podcast channels
- Pitch video concepts with smart packaging, titles, and structure, then develop full outlines for review
- Film long-form content directly with the talent and manage all logistics end-to-end including location, crew, and gear
- Edit long-form content and spin it into platform-native short-form and written content across channels
- Own the full content lifecycle: idea → scripting → filming → editing → publishing → promotion → reporting
- Lead development of content calendars and own distribution of assets
- Creative Production & Vendor Management
- Manage vendors and freelancers including editors, designers, and videographers to ensure quality control through detailed reviews and feedback
- Coordinate shoot budgets, gear inventory, and production logistics
- Work closely with talent to extract insights and package content that feels high-value and native to each platform
- Platform Strategy & Brand Positioning
- Develop and evolve brand positioning in the market and ensure alignment across all content
- Identify the right shows, podcasts, and platforms for the talent to appear on
- Maintain strong platform fluency, adapting to algorithm changes and user behavior trends
- Analytics & Optimization
- Use tools like YouTube Studio, Meta Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, and third-party tools to track performance and inform strategy
- Prioritize metrics that move the business forward (KPIs: conversions, CTR, watch time, impressions)
- Run and review quarterly content reports with the team
- Team & Collaboration
- Consult with internal teams on best practices, workflows, and structure
- Align with EA and Admin teams for scheduling and operational logistics
Rhythm
- Weekly meetings with CEO to review outlines, performance, and strategy
- Content cadence (adjust based on needs):
- 5 - 10 Long-form video(s) per month
- 1 - 2 Podcast(s) per month
- 20- 35 Shorts per week
- LinkedIn posts per week
- Quarterly content reports
Results
- Drive quarter-over-quarter growth by % (insert target) in impressions, engagement, and conversions across platforms
- Establish a repeatable system for producing platform-native content consistently
- Build toward a process where talent only needs to tweak outlines and show up to film
- Increase brand awareness and positioning for key narratives
- Build and oversee budgets and vendor relationships efficiently
- Produce weekly and quarterly reports that influence decision-making
What We're Looking For
- Curiosity around the subject matter the talent covers
- 2-5 years of experience in content creation, media production, or brand growth roles
- Experience executing every step of the content process: ideation, scripting, filming, editing, distribution
- Strong instincts for brand building, platform nuances, and data interpretation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and give clear, constructive feedback
- Experience managing and training small teams or freelancers
- Bonus: experience scaling large audiences or working with influential founders
Growth Opportunity
This role has the potential to evolve into a senior leadership position, overseeing broader creative strategy and leading teams across multiple brands. You'll be in the room for strategy, brand building, and growth conversations that shape the future of the company.
