We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill an opening in our Benson, NC location as Production Supervisor - Converting. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed goals and monitoring the day-to-day production activities to ensure that production efficiency goals are being met, safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced. Directly supervises hourly employees. Support our culture of engagement, empowerment and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities/Principal Duties
:

  • Assist in the establishment and leadership of plant safety objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the required internal certifications.
  • Lead, counsel, train, and develop team members as appropriate.
  • Initiate and deliver any required disciplinary actions for team members.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for team members.
  • Actively participate in team member employment decisions, including hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Track and manage attendance data for team members.
  • Responsible for individual and team compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance, and process excellence by providing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Perform 6S, safety, process, and quality audits.
  • Address any identified gaps and ensure resolution.
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of asset quality, productivity, and other required metrics.
  • Positively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.
  • Monitor quality and make recommendations on when to stop production based on material being out of specification in conjunction with the Process Tech and Leadership teams.
  • Attend downtime meetings, schedule meetings, safety meetings, asset meetings, safety reviews, and down-day planning meetings.
  • Conduct and manage shift handover meetings, natural work team meetings, and other required team meetings.
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, including but not limited to production and downtime reports and incident reports
  • Assist operators and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
  • Serve as a resource to Production Tech and Plant Leadership in resolving customer complaints.
  • Responsible for fulfilling the tasks as outlined in the daily task lists.
  • Required to serve as a member of the emergency response team, with training required in the following: Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/BBP, Fire Extinguisher
  • This role will provide oversite and direction to the Warehouse Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

  • Education: A college degree is preferred. High school diploma/GED equivalency is required.
  • Experience : A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment is preferred. JDE experience is preferred. Prior non-woven experience is preferred. Six Sigma certification (black or green belt) is preferred.
  • Physical/Cognitive Requirements : Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent contact with others. Ability to manage multiple functional areas and develop/execute plans for the plant. Must have excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills. be able to lead and/or coordinate the activities of different functional areas within the plant. The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
