Auto Damage Appraiser

We are looking for full time Auto Damage Appraiser to cover an area in the Eastern part of the state of Iowa around Burlington/Ft. Madison and the surrounding area but will cover other locations as needed. You will be required to drive to multiple locations and will work from your car and/or home. There will be some hands-on training after you are hired, but it is important to already have some knowledge and experience in the industry.

A company vehicle will be supplied to you as long as you have a good driving record. If you do not have a good driving record, you would need to use your personal vehicle, but you would be reimbursed for the mileage driven. The company also supplies all necessary equipment i.e. laptop, cell phone, camera, GPS, printer with ink and paper etc.

Duties would include but are not limited to:

  • Contacting the owner to set a place and time to inspect their damaged vehicle.
  • Take clear photos and notes of the vehicle and its damages.
  • Use estimating software CCC1 to write an estimate for the damages that would need to be repaired.
  • Work with the body shops in the area to make sure your estimate is accurate, and prices are agreed.
  • Submitting your estimate and photos back to office which would be returned to the insurance company.

Time management skills are necessary as you will be allowed to make your own schedule. Computer skills are important as you will be required to send and receive all work from your company laptop. You will also be required to run searches and values which is all done online. Customer service skills are a must as you will be communicating with insurance adjusters, vehicle owners as well as different repair shops and a level of professionalism is expected.

There is paid time off for normal holidays, vacation and sick time. Unfortunately, no healthcare insurance is offered.
