Patient Care Technician/ Nurse Aide/ Phlebotomy Instructor

Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Nurse Aide / Phlebotomy Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the healthcare training programs. The instructor prepares students for entry-level employment and national certification in Patient Care Technician, Nurse Aide (CNA), and Phlebotomy. This position ensures that instruction aligns with state regulatory requirements, national competency standards, and program outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
· Deliver classroom instruction in:
o Patient Care Technician (PCT)
o Nurse Aide (CNA)
o Phlebotomy
· Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with:
· Program curriculum & objectives
· Hartman's Nursing Assistant / PCT Textbook (when applicable)
· State and national certification standards (NCCT, NHA, etc.)
· Provide hands-on skills instruction in the laboratory setting including:
· Vital signs
· Hand hygiene and PPE
· Patient transfers and mobility
· ADLs (bathing, feeding, elimination)
· Venipuncture and capillary puncture (if credentialed)
· Specimen handling and processing
Clinical Supervision
· Supervise students during external clinical rotations at approved healthcare facilities
· Ensure student compliance with:
· Facility policies and procedures
· HIPAA regulations
· Infection control guidelines
· Provide immediate feedback and performance coaching to students
· Complete student clinical evaluations and skills verification
Student Support & Evaluation
· Assess student performance through:
· Skills checkoffs
· Written examinations
· Clinical competency evaluations
· Provide tutoring and remediation when needed
· Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance documentation
Program & Compliance Responsibilities
· Follow all institutional and state regulatory requirements
· Assist in maintaining accreditation and compliance documentation
· Maintain current licensure, certifications, and continuing education
· Participate in faculty meetings, in-services, and professional development activities
· Support program improvement and curriculum updates
Required Qualifications
· Current, unencumbered license/certification in one of the following:
· LPN/LVN or RN (preferred)
OR Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) with additional credentials
· Current certification in:
· Nurse Aide (CNA) or eligibility to teach CNA
· Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent
· Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience
· Minimum 1 year of teaching, precepting, or training experience preferred
· Knowledge of:
· Basic nursing skills
· Infection control and safety standards
· HIPAA and patient rights
· Adult learning principles
Preferred Qualifications
· Teaching experience in a vocational or postsecondary institution
· Experience teaching multiple healthcare courses
· Familiarity with:
· Hartman's curriculum
· NCCT or NHA certification requirements
· CPR/BLS Instructor certification
· Prior curriculum development experience

Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods
· Ability to lift and assist patients (up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation)
· Demonstrate physical tasks such as transfers, positioning, and phlebotomy procedures
· Good visual, hearing, and manual dexterity

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
