About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a part-time Assistant Bookkeeper. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by providing comprehensive reports. While also managing key bookkeeping tasks. You will be the go-to person for processing financial transactions and reconciling bank statements.

What You'll Do:

  • Reconcile Bank Statement and ensure accurate cash balance.
  • Daily reconciliation of POs to invoices.
  • Daily input of AP invoices to our Xero Accounting Software.
  • Perform/learn month end closing procedures.
  • File invoices, payments, deposit slips, etc.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded correctly
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information
  • Track assets
  • Respecting, enabling, and maintaining the office's professional team culture.
  • Resolving conflicts with others effectively.
  • Tracking project costs

What You'll Need:

  • Associate's degree w/major in accounting or 1-2 years equivalent work experience with some college level courses in accounting.
  • 1-2 years' experience using Quickbooks/Xero
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Proficient computer skills are a must – Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Desire to learn new tasks and help out wherever the work is needed. Interest in furthering accounting skills or on track for an AA or BS in Accounting
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Must be able to pass background and drug test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
