Job Description
The Office of Recovery Services in Taylorsville is looking for dedicated people to work as Compliance Agents, specifically Tort and Third Party Verification Compliance Agents, with the ORS Medicaid Recovery Teams

Starting Hourly Rate: $20.31

This recruitment may be used to fill vacancies for the next six months.

Responsibilities And Duties
A Tort Compliance Agent may:

• Perform research
• Identify potential liable third parties
• Negotiate settlement of claims
• Work with recipients, attorneys, and insurance companies to pursue debts owed to the State of Utah
• Review Medicaid paid claims information
• File appropriate claims to reimburse the Medicaid program
• Maintain accurate accounting records for medical debts to ensure receipts are posted in accordance with established state business practices

A Third Party Verification Compliance Agent May

• Ensure the accuracy of insurance coverage of Medicaid recipients by utilizing online verification sources and/or in person insurance company contacts and adding or updating verified insurance information to computer systems
• Provide customer service for clients/customers in various state agencies and private companies
• Maintain proficient computer skills in various state systems and online resources

Qualifications

• Proficient research skills
• Efficient problem solving
• Good attention to detail
• Proficiency in a technologically driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills
• Exceptional ability to multi-task and quickly make decisions
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to assist people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism
• Ability to effectively contact individuals or organizations to secure delinquent payments, and/or make payment arrangements for money owed
• Effectively interpret, clarify, explain, and apply agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations

Preference
Preference may be given to candidates who have at least one year of experience working in a medical or legal field.
