Innovative Research, Inc., a growing Biotech headquartered in Novi, MI is looking to expand its sales team. Innovative Research, Inc. provides researchers around the world biological products, reagents and kits providing consistency from lot to lot ensuring repeatable success.

This traditionally ecommerce-driven organization is looking to invest in its growth with "feet on the street" in the US Southeast region. The location of preference for the role is near the Research Triangle in North Carolina, the District-Maryland-or Northern Virginia region, or Atlanta, GA with travel to customers encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Selling - Make something happen that otherwise would not (including growth of existing business, identification and engagement of new clients, improved penetration in the areas of academia and government agencies)
  • Sales Tracking - Activity and management through NetSuite (including tracking of activities, reporting on pipeline reporting.)
  • Planning - the ability to break down the opportunity set, identify the opportunities to pursue, make a plan and execute and adjust
  • Team player - Engage the team to better self and the whole recognizing the collective success is dependent on the entire team
  • Communication - It is imperative the communication lines of all types, written and spoken, are open and consistent

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 2 years in a 'hunting' sales capacity
  • A history selling to Biotech (Pharmaceutical, Government Biotechnology) or Academia (Universities, Colleges)
  • Has a life science background and is able to understand customer needs as it relates to our product portfolio
  • Experience with client engagement including email and phone communication.
  • Ability to set up and attend in person meetings. Ability to travel, and prepare for those meetings
  • Extensive network to engage across Biotech industry
  • Confidence in networking events and cold calling
  • Preferred: Proficiency in NetSuite
