What you will be doing

The Human Resources Talent Partner is a key collaborator in promoting a positive and engaging workplace at Heritage Community of Kalamazoo. This role combines human resources expertise, full-cycle recruitment, and retention-focused initiatives to support the organization's mission and strategic goals. The HR Talent Partner works closely with leadership, managers, and employees to attract and retain talent while nurturing a culture of recognition and engagement.

  • Create recruitment marketing plans to ensure maximum visibility among potential candidates.
  • Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand departmental staffing needs and provide strategic recruitment insights.
  • Screen applicants and coordinate interviews with hiring managers, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Manage candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) throughout the recruitment process, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Administer FMLA, MLOA, PLOA, workers' compensation, and ADA claims, communicating with managers and leadership.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollments, qualifying event benefit changes, and the open enrollment process.
  • Assist employees and leadership in interpreting HR policies and procedures.
  • Support employee retention and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, including performance, benefits, and employment status documentation.

About You

  • Eager to learn and apply best practices in both human resources and recruiting, with a proactive mindset and a passion for connecting people with meaningful opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience in HR and talent acquisition, with expertise in sourcing strategies, candidate screening, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Skilled in leveraging digital marketing tools (e.g., social media, email campaigns, content creation) to promote job openings, strengthen employer branding, and enhance candidate and employee engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to build rapport and foster relationships—essential for both candidate experience and internal HR collaboration.
