Company Overview:

General Machine Company of NJ (GEMCO) is a 4th-generation, family-owned manufacturer of industrial blending and drying equipment. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to assist in sales.

What You'll Do:

  • Support sales team with technical expertise, proposals, and customer solutions.
  • Assist in preparing quotes, drawings, and presentations for clients.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure client needs are met.
  • Develop a strong understanding of GEMCO's industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in client meetings, product demonstrations, and trade shows.
  • Provide after-sales support and maintain ongoing customer relationships.
  • Utilize company systems such as CRM, ERP, and proposal generators to manage information efficiently.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory, client interactions, and account documentation.
  • Research older CAD files for dimensions, replacement parts, and retrofits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5 years' experience in heavy equipment production
  • Experience in sales, customer service, or manufacturing a plus (internships welcome).
  • Strong technical aptitude with ability to explain engineering concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Excellent communication, presentations, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with project management principles is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
