Washington, Washington, D.C., United States Signal Financial Federal Credit Union Full time $56,640 - $80,000 per year

Float Member Relationship Advisor - Washington DC

Signal Financial is a progressive and growing credit union with over 24,000 members and more than $400 million in assets. We are committed to building a new way of banking for our current and future members in the Washington Metro area. Our goal is to become a progressive multi-billion-dollar financial institution by reinventing the way we operate, particularly in how we enhance the member experience. We aim to do this by being innovative, creative, and nimble in offering distinctive products and services.

Position Description

The Float Member Relationship Advisor (MRA) will be based in Washington DC and is responsible for delivering the distinctive Signal member experience across multiple branch locations. This floating role requires flexibility to travel to any of our branch offices within the credit union's footprint as needed, in order to support staffing needs and provide continuity of service. (To compensate for this required travel, the minimum starting pay for this position is $28.00 per hour.) The MRA will establish rapport and trust with members, identify financial needs and goals through a comprehensive financial review process, and recommend appropriate solutions. The MRA will refer members to business line partners (as needed) and manage the member relationship beyond the initial new account opening through an onboarding process. The role also involves facilitating offsite presentations to existing and prospective Select Employer Groups (SEGs) to grow our membership.

In addition, the MRA will handle ongoing member service and account maintenance transactions (including cash handling). This position requires the ability to be a Notary Public in the state where you are assigned to work.

Position Responsibilities

  • Complete new member financial reviews, following the D.R.S.W. ("Developing Relationships the Signal Way") conversation model. Communicate the appropriate product solution bundle and refer to other business line partners as needed.
  • Answer questions about products and services and resolve problems that are within authority to resolve. Refer problems beyond authority to a supervisor, along with recommended solutions.
  • Support branch managers and facilitate offsite presentations to SEGs as required to promote credit union membership.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and make appropriate product and/or service recommendations as member needs arise.
  • Ensure all required paperwork and documentation are completed accurately, adhering to the Credit Union's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain member relationships through ongoing outbound calling and the use of relationship management software.
  • Act as a liaison between members and various departments or partner organizations.
  • Operate as a teller when business or branch needs dictate, processing daily transactions as needed.
  • Travel to and cover multiple branch locations as needed to ensure consistent member service across the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • A high school education or GED is required. (College degree preferred.)
  • Two to five years of similar or related experience, required.
  • Prior experience in a financial services company or credit union is preferred.
  • The flexibility to travel to multiple branches throughout the MD metropolitan area is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal engagement and presentation skills - attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both members and employees - required.
  • Work may involve motivating or influencing others - required.
  • Ability to foster sound relationships with members, coworkers, and community partners - required.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail - required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) - required.
  • Prior experience with our core system (Fiserv) is preferred.

The list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management may deem as necessary.
