Associate Attorney – Personal Injury Attorney

The Santos Law Firm, PLLC is a fast growing law firm expanding its Personal Injury division. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Personal Injury Attorney to help develop our PI department from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, client-focused, and comfortable managing cases independently while collaborating with support staff. Attorneys with strong pre-litigation and litigation experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • Minimum of 2 years of personal injury litigation experience required
  • Spanish-speaking strongly preferred but not required
  • Trial experience strongly preferred but not required
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Client obsession
  • Ability to manage cases independently and take initiative
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of Texas civil procedure and personal injury practice
  • Professional pride in client communication and outcomes
  • Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and insurance coverage
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients
  • Review medical records, bills, police reports, and supporting evidence
  • Draft and submit demand packages
  • Negotiate claims with insurance carriers
  • File lawsuits when necessary and manage litigation matters
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement agreements
  • Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
  • Prepare for taking of and defending depositions
  • Appear in court for hearings, mediations, and trials as required
  • Collaborate with the case manager to ensure deadlines and case progression
  • Assist in developing systems and best practices for the Personal Injury department
  • Stay current on Texas personal injury laws and civil procedure

Base Salary: $115, $140,000.00 per year

Commission / Fee Bonus:

  • 3% of net attorney's fees on cases the attorney settles pre-suit
  • 5% if suit is filed
  • 8% if verdict obtained
  • 20% available for cases personally originated by the attorney

Growth Opportunity:

As the department grows, commission percentages and leadership compensation will be reviewed and adjusted.

Pay: $115, $140,000.00 per year
