Overview
The Senior Banker for The Farmers Bank of Willards is responsible for maintaining the front line at the branch as well as managing the customer portfolio for the location. This role involves deepening customer relationships and driving branch targets as well as assisting the Branch Manager with staffing concerns and needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive banking experience, strong relationship-building skills and a thorough understanding of financial markets.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and determine their banking needs.
- Process transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, currency exchanges and more, accurately and efficiently.
- Handle requests for stop payments or place holds on funds as needed and required.
- Order checks for customers if necessary.
- Address basic customer inquiries regarding products, services and account information.
- Perform basic customer maintenance, such as address and phone updates.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of banking policies, procedures and compliance regulations.
- Handle cash and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve branch goals and objectives.
- Participate in training sessions and stay updated on new products and services.
- Provide expert advice on a range of banking products, including checking, savings, CD and Digital Banking options.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
- Collaborate with branch staff to achieve branch targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Balance and maintain the ATM for the location.
- Handle any and all vault responsibilities for the branch.
- Handling basic online posting functions, such as account to account transfers, printing online checks, and initiating outgoing wire transfers.
- Engage with all customers, consumer and business, to understand their financial needs.
- Provide expert advice on a range of banking products, including all deposit account products, as well as digital products and services.
- Assist all customers in opening and closing accounts, performing all types of account maintenance and handling advanced transactions.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to recommend suitable products and services.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
- Collaborate with branch staff to achieve branch targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed about product offerings and the competitive financial services landscape.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling banking products to enhance customer satisfaction and branch profitability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Mentor and support front line staff in their professional development.
- Train newly hired front line employees as assigned.
- Assist Branch Manager with responsibilities as needed, such as NSF processing and scheduling.

Expected Hours of Work/Position Type
This position is non-exempt and requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday and every other Saturday.
Work Environment
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This role is often standing for a few hours as well as sitting for longer periods of time. There may be a need to lift up to 25 pounds when handling assigned duties.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 4-5 years of experience in banking or financial services, with a focus on relationship management
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite
