We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial sales skills and a thorough understanding of the mortgage industry, including loan origination, processing, and underwriting. As a Loan Officer and Manager you will be responsible for guiding clients through the loan application process while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and TILA guidelines. Your expertise in credit analysis and customer service will be essential in helping clients secure the financing they need.
Duties
- Assist clients in the loan origination process by evaluating their financial needs and recommending suitable loan products.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors.
- Negotiate loan terms with clients while ensuring compliance with FNMA guidelines.
- Utilize Quicken and other financial software to manage loan applications and documentation effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage servicing, contracts, and escrow processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process to ensure client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to facilitate timely approval of loans.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate calculations related to loans and interest rates.
- Stay informed about changes in banking regulations and industry trends that may affect lending practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar role within the financial services industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful financial sales.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations, TILA, and other relevant compliance standards.
- Proficient in using accounting software and financial tools, including 10 key typing skills for data entry accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, credit analysis techniques, and loan processing requirements.
